Apply as a Transfer Student

To apply online to Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) as an undergraduate student, complete the Jefferson Online Application or Common Application  and submit all supporting materials by the below deadlines.

Transfer Applicant Deadline:

Regular Decision Deadline: June 1*

Please Note: It is recommended that Spring 2018 applicants submit their application and all supporting materials by December 1.

*Applications received after the regular decision deadlines will be reviewed on a space-available basis and at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.

Application Materials

To be considered for admission to Jefferson, transfer applicants must submit:

  • $40 non-refundable application fee
  • Official high school transcript(s) (only needed if you have less than 30 college credits earned)
  • SAT and/or ACT scores (only needed if you have less than 30 college credits earned)
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor who can speak to your academic preparation and college readiness. Click here to download the recommendation form.
  • Transcripts for all previous college work
  • Essay (250 - 650 words)

Transfer Essay Prompt:

Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

Note: Students applying for transfer to Architecture or Fashion Design must submit a portfolio.

Once your application materials are received, your application will be presented to the Admissions Committee and you will be notified of a decision in approximately 4-6 weeks.
