health professions management studentThe Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management Information Systems (BS-HSMIS) prepares individuals for entry-level management in a wide variety of healthcare settings. Managers within these organizations plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the delivery of healthcare services. They may be generalists who administer, manage or help to manage entire facilities or systems, or specialists who manage clinical departments or services specific to the healthcare industry.

Curriculum

To earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Professions Management Information Systems degree, you must complete a minimum of 123 credits. Specific course requirements are listed below. Remaining credits are satisfied with elective courses.

General Requirements: Courses required to fulfill General Education requirements are offered in a traditional 15-week semester and accelerated sessions. Foundation and Major courses are accelerated. Classes meet two evenings per week for seven weeks. The accelerated college year consists of six seven-week sessions. Students may begin or enter the Program at any one of the six accelerated sessions.

* College algebra or higher. Students demonstrating college-level algebra proficiency may take pre-calculus or calculus to satisfy both the General Education and Foundation mathematics requirements. They may take a free elective in its place.
