Monique Chabot, OTD, MS, OTR/L specializes in geriatrics, working with older adults in the home and on an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit. Her experience ranges from working with older adults with orthopedic and neurological conditions, to families for dementia caregiver training and environmental modifications. Monique holds specialized training for Parkinson's Disease with a LSVT- BIG certification. In addition to her occupational therapy license, Monique has held a massage therapy license and Kinesio Taping certification for over 10 years, stemming from an interest in pain management and manual therapy. She has a specific interest in home design for seniors and aging in place. Her doctoral work focused on increasing interprofessional collaboration among home design professionals and occupational therapists in home design for seniors. In 2014, Monique was selected as an AOTA Emerging Leader, where she worked with the Home and Community Special Interest Section to increase the knowledge base of occupational therapists on home modifications.
