THE PROJECT: Jefferson's Annual Fashion Show is the largest event of its kind in the Philadelphia area, and the culmination of years of study and hands-on experience for the University's fashion design students.

Meet the show's producers:

"As a freshman, I was extremely excited to have such a big part in the production. My fellow FIA board members and I spent many all-nighters doing everything from line ups to goodie bags, but it was worth it! I really believe doing a production like this has prepared me for jobs and bosses in the future. It has definitely made me more resilient under pressure and given me better organizational skills." — Madison Howe / Fashion Design

"It's a great example of a collaborative project between many disciplines and organizations in the PhilaU community." — Andrew Van Sant, fashion merchandising major; 2010-11 FIA president

Nate Myers, graphic design major
Casey Lamke, fashion industry management major; 2010-11 FIA vice president and 2011-12 FIA president
Spencer Geiger, fashion industry management major
Grant Christofely, interior design major; 2010-11 set designer

VITAL STATISTICS: The show itself takes almost a year to produce. Presented by Jefferson's Fashion Industry Association, which includes students in fashion design, fashion merchandising and fashion industry management, the event is one of the most anticipated of the academic year. Each year, a standing room only crowd of some 2,300 students and their families, faculty members, designers, and fashion and apparel industry professionals turn out for the professional runway show.

At one show, fashion expert Carson Kressley, star of Bravo's hit show 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,' presented the Philadelphia University Spirit of Design award to fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger.

TEAM TAKEAWAYS: "It's such an amazing opportunity for student designers to get recognition for all their hard work and to get their names into the professional world." — Casey Lamke

"As an interior design student, I wanted to see the set bring to life fashion in a way that hadn't been explored in past shows." — Grant Christofely
