Sharing PhilaU Expertise PhilaU Students Win IDSA Design Learning Challenge Industrial design students Ryan Woelkers, Christian Loos, Michelle Hodulik, Adam Letherby and Kristina Gaudio and Professor Götz Unger, in collaboration with Mr. Garreth Heidt and students from Perkiomen Valley Middle School, were recognized as winners of the Industrial Design Society of America’s Design Learning Challenge. The purpose of the challenge was to expose young students to design thinking and create an active awareness of the discipline of industrial design. Their project invited sixth- to eighth-grade students to develop, focus and refine their ideas as they designed, implemented and tested the installation of their annual Poetry Café celebration.
