Graphic Design Graduates Receive Prestigious Awards Carly DiBona ’12, a recent graduate from Philadelphia University’s Graphic Design Communications program, was featured in the Above the Fold Student Web Design Competition for her capstone project. DiBona’s project, “Passport to Indulgence,” is an original website designed to inform travelers of the best food all around Europe. Fellow graduate Natalie Vespe ’12 won a Merit Award in the student work category in the 2012 How Magazine Self-Promotion Design Competition. Vespe’s winning entry was her senior design capstone project. In winning the award, she joins a long list of past winners from the graphic design program at Philadelphia University. Graphic design communication graduate Samantha Mola ’12 was recognized as a semifinalist for her outstanding work by the prestigious 2012 Adobe Design Achievement Awards. Mola received honors in the Adobe-sponsored highly competitive international student design competition in the Print Communication category. She was awarded for two projects: “Blueprint for a Greener Life,” her solution to the industry-sponsored EnergyWorks project, and “Don’t Do It,” her public awareness campaign against animal cruelty in the food processing industry. 40 • Profession, Career, Edge
