Fashion Design

Student Organizations

As a Jefferson fashion design student, your immersion into the industry doesn’t have to stop at the end of class. With extra-curricular activities to keep your fashion-mind spinning even off the class-time clock, you will get the chance to delve deeper into any part of the fashion interests you: from fashion publications to the planning and production of fashion events.

Fashion Industries Association

Fashion Industries Association (FIA) is one of the largest co-curricular campus organizations for students interested in the fashion industry. As in the norm in the real-world of fashion, students collaborate across design and business disciplines; members of this organization help with various fashion events on campus and in the Philadelphia region, and produce two of the most anticipated events on campus each year: the Design X Fashion show and the Annual Fashion Show.

Black Retail Action Group

Jefferson’s Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) is one of nine national chapters of a non-profit organization that prepares and educates professionals, entrepreneurs and students of color for executive leadership in retail, fashion and related industries. For more than forty years, the organization has been providing scholarships and summer internship programs to help fulfill their mission.

Each year the Jefferson BRAG holds the annual “Talkin’ Fashion” event, where industry professionals speak to members about their career experiences in the fashion industry. The event is completely organized and founded by the chapter and its members.
