A Special Welcome from Dr. Spinelli

Dear Friends,

The Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) mission is to launch students successfully into careers of their passion. From their first day on campus, Jefferson students are treated as professionals and leaders as we work to prepare them for exciting jobs.

Our active, transdisciplinary, real-world learning, infused with the liberal arts, means our students acquire knowledge in the classroom in a real-world manner. They tackle hands-on challenges from organizations as diverse as Johnson & Johnson and NASA to Federal-Mogul and Target. Our students are praised for their innovative, collaborative, professional-level solutions, and their ability to step right into positions upon graduation. They gain experience as part of industry collaborations and as members of professional teams – experience that helps them develop the professional and personal skills necessary to be leaders in their chosen professions. We call this Nexus Learning and it gives our students and graduates a real competitive advantage.

We validate our educational philosophy every time one of our students or graduates wins a competition, gets a great internship or job, or produces something innovative in his or her field. The numbers tell our story: graduates of our undergraduate programs have a 95% or greater rate of job placement in their field or graduate school acceptance. In addition, eleven of our programs have been nationally and internationally ranked, and our curriculum has been named most innovative by Core 77 and the University Economic Development Association.

Whether you are visiting this website as a prospective student, current student, family member or alumnus, you will find many resources to assist you in learning as much as you can about the dynamic Jefferson University community. I encourage you to ask questions, take a look at the work being produced by our talented students, and come explore our beautiful campus firsthand. It is an exciting time to experience Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University).

Stephen Spinelli Jr., Ph.D.
