Design Expo 2018

This is a full-day event where over 75 design employers will view your online portfolio and then invite you to meet with them for one-on-one interviews throughout the day. There will also be an Open Networking hour where you can visit the companies of your choice!

Design Expo will be held March 22, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Gallagher Athletic Center at Jefferson East Falls Campus. (Employers: Click here to register!)

Students: How to Register for Design Expo

Deadline: March 6

Step 1: Submit the Student Registration Form for Design Expo on HireJefferson, under the Events tab (use your WebAdvisor login to access).

Registration is open to Juniors, Seniors, 5th Year Architecture, and Master's students. Sophomores and Freshmen may sign in on the day of the event to attend the Open Networking hour between 12:00 pm - 1:15 p.m. 

Step 2: Upload Your Resume to HireJefferson by March 5 so that you can get it approved by our staff in time for the deadline of March 6. Click on your major below for instructions on how to complete Steps 2 & 3.

Important Dates Now to Design Expo

Feb. 20-22

Design Expo Workshops (20 minutes)
How to prep & what to expect before and during Design Expo.

Feb. 20 & 22: Starting at 12:30 | 1:00 | 1:30 pm
Feb. 21: Starting at 5:00 | 5:30 pm

March 5

Deadline to upload your most UPDATED resume into HireJefferson. Approval may take 24 hours, so this will leave you enough time to complete your registration by March 6. Your updated resume should include your online portfolio at the top or bottom of your resume.

March 6

Deadline to:

  1. Register for Design Expo (complete all Steps 1-3).

  2. Update Your Portfolio. We are asking that you "press pause" on updating your portfolio between March 6 to March 15 while employers are viewing your work. After March 15, you can continue updating as usual. If you have UPDATED portfolio pieces, you should bring them to Design Expo to show employers in person.

  3. Withdraw from the Event. All students registered for Expo by this date are considered fully committed and must attend every interview an employer has booked with them.

March 8

Deadline to Finish Requesting that Employers View Your Portfolio. On March 1, we will email all students a Google Doc with the list of all employers as well as instructions on how to request them. You have 1 week to request that employers view your portfolio.

March 21

Receive Your Interview Schedule for Design Expo via Email. The day before Design Expo, we will email you the companies who invited you to interview, along with the times. We will also inform students who were not selected to interview. Check the email you provided when you completed the registration form (Step 1) for Design Expo.

March 22

Design Expo

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gallagher Athletic Center - Jefferson East Falls Campus

  • 10:00 am: Check-in Begins! You can get your photo taken at the LinkedIn booth (sponsored by the Future Alumni Association)
  • 10:40 am - 12:00 pm - Interviews (Round 1)
  • 12:00 - 1:15 pm – Open Networking (open to Freshmen and Sophomores as well)
  • 2:15-5:00 pm - Interviews (Round 2)
