Philadelphia University has implemented Microsoft's Lync program as a communication tool for Faculty and Staff. It is used as the main communication hub for the phone system at the University. Please see the four reference guides below to learn the basics of Lync.

Lync Instant Messaging Service

Quick text communication is built into Lync. This can be used to send brief notes to University members. The Instant Messaging Service tutorial includes the following:

- A detailed explanation of the Presence/Status.
- How to send and receive Instant Messages.
- How to find a specific user to message in contacts.
- How to change Photo and Contact Settings.


Lync Voice and Video Quick Reference

This tutorial highlights some of the basic abilities of Lync. This tutorial contains direction on how to:

Lync Conference Call Reference

Lync has the ability to conference call with various members of the University. This tutorial contains direction on how to:

Lync Sharing and Collaboration Reference

Sharing voice and instant messages can only go so far in Triage. Using Lync's sharing and collaboration features, users can share programs and even entire desktops. This tutorial contains direction on how to:

- Share a Desktop.
- Share a Program.
- Share a PowerPoint Presentation.
- Give Virtual Control of a desktop to others.
- Attach a file.
