M.S. in Fashion Design Management

Curriculum

The M.S. in Fashion Design Management program is made possible through its cohort structure. A class of students begin at respective universities for the first semester. During the second semester, Politecnico di Milano students join the cohort at Thomas Jefferson University to work side-by-side and share global perspectives. In the final semester, all students will travel to Milan to attend classes at Politecnico di Milano.

SEMESTER I

  • Design Process Timeline: Planning and Management  (3 credits)
  • Fashion Design within Brand Parameters  (4 credits)
  • Social Media Metrics and Content Development  (3 credits)

SEMESTER II

  • Textile Design and Fabric/Trim Approval Processes  (3 credits)
  • Building Brand Identity – Communication and Branding  (3 credits)
  • Strategic Design and Merchandising Process  (4 credits)

SEMESTER III

(Held abroad at Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy)

  • Design Research and Trending  (3 credits)
  • Workshop/ Intensive Industry Project  (2 credits)
  • Fashion Design Studio / Prototyping  (4 credits)
  • Elective*  (3 credits)


TOTAL CREDIT HOURS 32 CREDITS

* Electives (3 credits each): Business Innovation, Reverse Modeling, System Design or Sustainability, Materials Experience, Generative Design, Temporary Urban Solutions, User and Social Innovation
